Cuba Scrolling Infographic for mobile
A brief set to me by Sky News. The criteria was to create an intuitive 2D scrolling infographic to work on a mobile device for use on apps like Snapchat and Twitter Moments. Originally commissioned just as a long still image, I took the opportunity to conceptualise it in an ideal real world use scenario. By taking its assets into After Effects I was able to bring the infographic to life with animated reveals for each section of the story. To further it once again I took the animated infographic and placed it into a 3D phone model I created in Cinema 4D, using minor camera movements to give perspective and authenticity to the 3D effect I feel I was successfully able to create and conceptualise my answer to the original commission.
As a result of this project I gained my first step into the graphic design industry by joining the team at Sky in the fast paced and intense News department.
Social Media Infographic
My first project using After Effects. As a self taught user of the program I produced this mainly just to learn the basics of After Effects and motion graphics as a whole. Since picking up the basics when producing this animation, After Effects has been my daily program of choice for the past couple of years and I intend to keep learning and producing work in it for the many more years to come.
Music Video
Secondary to my Social Media infographic I produced this 30 second short music video, mainly to learn the basics of matching sound to visual elements.
Thompson & Co Statistical Report
Taking the rather boring subject of statistics, graphs and charts, I decided to create short and simple piece of motion graphics to present this information in a way which has a greater chance of keeping a viewers attention.
Reasons for Presenting Infographic
A quick infographic I produced to answer a brief set by CDSM Interactive to explain why presenting in an appealing way is an effective way of teaching people specific information.
